Biocentrism in the City? Re-centering knowledge when nature comes first

Fabricating Facts in Behavior Genetics

Dr. Emily Merchant is a historian of science and technology in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, focusing on the quantitative human sciences and technologies of human measurement. Her current project, Molecular Eugenics, combines archival research, oral history, and computational textual analysis to develop an intellectual, institutional, and material history of the genetic and genomic social sciences since the mid-twentieth century and their contribution to eugenic projects in the postgenomic era.

Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies Student Life Program Assistant

Starting in early June through the end of July, the Online Student Life Program Assistant role will support Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS) Student Life engagement for Summer Institutes, Stanford University Mathematics Camp (SUMaC) and Stanford Middle School Scholars Program. SPCS online summer programs are designed to give students an immersive educational experience, emphasizing interactive education and deep engagement. Alongside daily instruction, the Student Life program offers students an opportunity to expand their interests through life and academic skills workshops and guest speakers. The Online Student Life Program Assistant position is an ideal opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students, or early professionals who enjoy working with pre-collegiate students (Grades 7-11) in an online learning setting.

Women in STEM Circle (WISC)

The Women in STEM Circle (WISC) is a six-week cohort program for women intending to go into STEM fields. This will be a safe space for women to talk about their uncertainties about going into a field where women are underrepresented, explore what that may look like, and develop a peer network that will serve as ongoing support pre and post-graduation. This cohort of 15-20 women will include a mix of structured activities, speakers, and informal small-group discussions. This cohort is open to juniors, seniors, masters, and PhD students. All gender-marginalized students in STEM are welcome to apply.

Cardinal Quarter offers opportunities for full-time public service experiences with a partner organization. Engage in preparatory programs, cohort activities, faculty advising sessions, and reflection activities designed to prepare you for your role and help you get the most out of your service experience.
