Congratulations to Deziree Harmon '24, who has been selected as NYU Shanghai's first LEADNext fellow. The fellows, a diverse group of young leaders from across the US, Asia, and the Pacific, undergo a six-month intensive leadership training, culminating in a Global Leaders Summit held in the San Francisco Bay Area.

• Congratulations to the Academic Resource Center's Course-specific Learning Assistants (LAs) Program, which has been awarded certification as a Level I certified tutor training program by the internationally-recognized College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). The course-specific LA program has met CRLA's high standards for tutor selection, training, direct service, and evaluation as an integral part of the overall tutoring program. Course-specific LAs who have met the requirements will be recognized as certified tutors.

• Congratulations to Associate Professor of Political Science Li Xiaojun, whose project on intellectual humility and US-China relations at a Sino-US joint venture university has been awarded the NYU Research Catalyst Prize (RCp), which supports faculty-initiated research. 

• Congratulations to Assistant Professor Faculty Fellow of Environmental Studies Liang Jiayong, whose project Strengthening Urban Climate Resilience: Flood Risk Assessment and Prevention Strategy Optimization has received the Pujiang Program Award from the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission. By combining remote sensing and cloud computing, the study aims to strengthen urban infrastructure against climate-related disasters, particularly flooding.
