URGENT: Congress Legislation Submissions Needed
|
For the first time ever, students have the opportunity to write and directly submit their own legislation to be considered for the National Tournament docket. Students whose legislation is selected for debate will be recognized in Rostrum, receive a trophy, and will be awarded a $100 scholarship! This is an excellent opportunity for your students to have a say in what they debate and to shine light on the issues that are important to them and their communities. Encourage your students to submit legislation by February 15.
If your district tournament has particularly excellent legislation submitted for debate, please encourage the school/author to submit that legislation for consideration. Many students may need that extra bit of encouragement to feel like their legislation is worthy of consideration. It is a great way for a student to be recognized for their research, critical thinking, and writing skills. Remind them how great such an honor may look on a resume! Please email District and Tournament Services Manager Lauren McCool at lauren.mccool@speechanddebate.org if you have any questions.
