Santa's Delivery Schedules
Dear Christ Church,

As many of you know, most of my childhood was spent in central Michigan. This time of year was always a bit harrowing and not just because it was Michigan in winter. All of my grandparents lived in Toledo, which, being two and a half hours away, was pretty much on the other side of the world. I felt guilty going so far for Christmas, because Santa would have a hard time traversing such a long distance in one night. To make things even more complicated, each set of Grandparents lived on opposite sides of the city, making Santa’s work that much more difficult. I was never too stressed though, because everything worked out in the end; generally, Santa would come a couple of days before actual Christmas day to my Grandma and Grandpa Batchelor’s house, and would then visit my Grandma and Grandpa Hull’s house for Christmas Day. He didn’t have anything to deliver to our actual home, but we always made it a point to leave him cookies and milk anyway. Later, I learned that Santa’s gift delivery schedule worked out great for my mom’s crazy schedule as an ER nurse, where it was the rule that everyone had to work either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
Blessings,
Nick

St. Nicholas Day Appeal - This year's Appeal will seed a new initiative named The Rev B. Lloyd Appalachian Mission Fund.  For more details click here.  To give, click here.
Poinsettias for Christmas - A Note from Father Nick: I absolutely love that we fill our Church with poinsettias for Christmas, and I think having parishioners buy them in memory of or thanksgiving for a loved one is meaningful and beautiful. We will still decorate our sanctuary with these beautiful flowers, but we are going to have to do things slightly different for just this one year. Deborah Scearce, our fearless Parish Administrator, will have to be out of the office  starting on December 19th. The only way that we are going to be able to have poinsettias this year is if we forgo the memorial list. We are still hoping that donations can cover the cost of the poinsettias, despite not having this list. If you would like to make it possible to fill our Church with poinsettias this year, you can make a check out to the Church and in the memo write “poinsettias", and we will ensure this goes to pay for these beautiful flowers. In the past we have asked for an eleven dollar donation for one poinsettia, but gifts of any amount are welcome.
2020 Pledge Cards:  If you haven't turned in your pledge card, please place it in the collection plate or bring it to the church office.  Your thoughtful gift will be most appreciated.
