OUR TOP 6 TOURNAMENT MOMENTS
6. Seeing the Excitement at Registration, in the NSDA Store, and Around the Expo » We love meeting you in person and watching you explore all the tournament has to offer on Sunday and Tuesday night.
5. The Lip Dub » Nationals isn't all about competition! Our video team is on the lookout all week for the stars of the annual lip dub video. What will this year's song be? Stay tuned...
4. The Buzz of the First Round of Competition » There's nothing like the excitement just before the tournament begins! For high schoolers, anticipation peaks Monday morning while middle school students are nervously running drills and bouncing on their toes first thing Wednesday. It's a joy to watch competitiors shake off their nerves and head to round one with their game face on.
3. Coaches' Caucuses » Last year's Coaches' Caucuses were a highlight of the week! Interested coaches can learn more about the 2019 leaders here. All sessions will meet in State Rooms 3-4 on the third floor of the Sheraton Hotel. The 2019 Coaches' Caucuses are supported by Colorado College.
10:00 a.m. –  African American/Black Coaches' Caucus
11:00 a.m. - Hispanic/Latinx Coaches’ Caucus
2:00 p.m. – LGBT+ Coaches’ Caucus
3:00 p.m. – Womxn

2. Reactions to Breaks
From the first round of breaks, to the NSDA Student Party (presented by the Institute for Speech and Debate), to making the main stage in finals, we love seeing the looks on competitors' faces when they see their names on the list!
Take a look at the schedule for your event in our high school or middle school Tournament Books to see when breaks will be announced for competitors. We can't wait to see your happy dances!
1. Watching Dreams Come True » Our favorite tournament moment by far is watching a national champion be crowned! Watch the best of the best perform during high school event finals on Thursday and Friday. Grab your seat to see the high school winners announced at the National Awards Assembly at 6:30 p.m. in the Lone Star Ballroom of the Sheraton Dallas Hotel.
And don't miss your chance to see the next generation of speech and debate powerhouses from the Middle School Speech & Debate Tournament, presented by Summit Debate! The national champions will be announced at the Middle School Awards Ceremony at 4:00 p.m. in the Dallas Ballroom. See you there!
