Longwood Gardens

Longwood from Home

As we get ready to welcome June and all of its beauty here in our Gardens, this week we share the return of some much-loved Gardens features, invite you to join us for a special Juneteenth performance, explore how you can raise your glass with Member discounts at local breweries, help you get ready for our June 1 Fireworks & Fountains Shows tickets on-sale date, explore the new Student Exhibition Garden … and more!

More Gardens Features Return May 31

Enjoy Our Indoor Children’s Garden and Meadow Shuttle
In response to the lifting of local and state regulations, starting May 31 we are thrilled to reopen the Indoor Children’s Garden and Visitor Center restrooms, as well as once again offer our Meadow Shuttle service. We look forward to making new memories with you as these spaces and features return.
We will continue to make updates to our visiting guidelines and appreciate your ongoing understanding. Member reservations are still required daily (except for Gardens Premium Members).
Per our updated visiting guidelines, unless you are fully vaccinated, face masks are required (ages 2 and older) in both indoor and outdoor public spaces, unless individuals are outside and can constantly maintain six feet from individuals who are not members in their household.

Celebrate Juneteenth

Join us Friday, June 18 at 6 pm in our Open Air Theatre as acclaimed poet, performer, and professor Dr. Joshua Bennett gives a musical and lyrical performance reflecting on the ongoing journey toward freedom. After the Open Air Theatre performance, stroll the Gardens and at 9:15 pm enjoy our new Illuminated Fountain Performance, Freedom, which serves as a tribute to the end of slavery, honoring and recognizing the themes of freedom, hope, and strength. This event is part of Journeying Toward Freedom, a Chester County Juneteenth Festival, that runs as a county-wide program the weeks of June 12-July 5, 2021.
Members receive 15% off tickets for the Joshua Bennett performance using the promo code VOICESUNDERGROUND. Tickets limited, sell out likely.

Make it a Sunday Funday

This June, support local breweries while enjoying special offers at participating Chester County breweries, just for Longwood Members. Visit participating breweries and show your Membership card on June 6, 13, 20, and 27 to receive complimentary pours, discounts, a free koozie, and more!

Explore the Student Exhibition Garden

This year, our Student Exhibition Garden finds its new home in the Idea Garden, where it will be remain on display through mid-October. This imaginative space is designed, constructed, and maintained by students in our Professional Horticulture Program—Longwood’s collegiate level, two-year professional horticulture program. After not being able to have a Student Exhibition Garden in 2020 because of the onset of COVID-19, we are incredibly excited to once again proudly showcase our students’ beautiful visions, hard work, and utmost care in the form of the three distinct gardens that reflect this year’s Student Exhibition Garden theme—signature and identity.
At Longwood, we grow because of our people ... and we're looking for you to help us grow! We are hiring for many part-time and seasonal positions. If you are highly collaborative, creative, and self-motivated (or know someone who is), you'll fit right in! Explore more about working at Longwood.
