Love the Arts in Nebraska? We Need Your Voice!
Nebraskans for the Arts is a statewide advocacy organization focused on supporting the arts and arts education. This past year saw growing success in accessing and informing policymakers about the impact the arts have on economic development, community vitality, and educating our children.
We did not do this alone - your participation as members through our adovocacy events, and supporting recognition programs like the NebraskARTS Award, helped us make an impact.
Please join or renew your membership before the end of the year and help us keep the momentum going into 2019 for sharing the importance of the arts for better schools and better communities.
Preparing for the 2019 Unicameral
The 2019 Nebraska Legislature convenes on January 9th. The session will be a busy one for arts advocates.  Issues so far on the Nebraskans for the Arts legislative agenda include:
  • Advocating for funding of the Nebraska Arts Council and public-matching funds appropriaton of the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.
  • Licensing of art therapists.
  • Allowing cultural organizations to be eligible for bond financing of capital projects.
Please contact Nebraskans for the Arts if you would like more information on these items or are interested in the advocating for one of these issues.
We will also be monitoring the bills introduced during the session that can impact arts and arts education and keep you updated.
