| Education Leadership, Management and Policy (ELMP) Doctoral Students Making News |

ELMP doctoral students Marsha Philemon, Yolanda Jackson, Lula Baker, and Emily Wureh will present their research in a panel discussion on the issues African American women face in various positions within academia. This panel was accepted in the program of the upcoming Conference on Women and Gender on April 5.

ELMP doctoral student, Hanan Abu Salih, will present a paper and receive a travel grant to present in this year’s WES-CIHE Summer Institute at Boston College. In her paper “Between Neutrality and Caesarism: The Role of University Presidents in Shaping Institutional Identity," Abu Salih explores the challenges faced by U.S. university presidents in navigating the complexities of institutional neutrality amidst global conflicts. It delves into the politicization of higher education, focusing on recent shifts in university leaders' responses to international issues, particularly the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
