We continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 until October 15. September 15 is also Independence Day for several Latin American nations: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. September 16 is Mexico Independence Day, and September 18–19 is Fiestas Patrias (Chile Independence Days).

Deaf Awareness Week (DAW) is a dedicated time to celebrate Deaf culture, promote the use of sign language, and raise awareness about the challenges faced by Deaf and hard-of-hearing people. It's observed in the last full week of September to coincide with the International Day of Sign Languages on September 23.

The American Sign Language/Deaf Culture Club: The American Sign Language/Deaf Culture Club serves to educate Seton Hall community members who are interested in learning about ASL or Deaf Culture. This club offers engaging programs and workshops on topics related to Deaf Culture and American Sign Language. Contact: asldc@shu.edu

"Somos Latino" Exhibition is an art exhibition at the 1978 Maplewood Arts Center featuring work by Latin American artists from the local community from September 19 through October 19.

Tito Puente Jr. Salsa Night is September 19 in Westfield Garden State Plaza, Paramus. This outdoor concert will celebrate the culture, music, and legacy of Latin America through the sounds of Tito Puente Jr.'s ensemble. There will be food and drinks from the restaurants at the mall, as well as giveaways, store promos, and a spin wheel.

Community Day: Fiesta Latina is at the Newark Museum Saturday, September 20, from 12–5 p.m.
