Meet the 2024-25 Tennessee 4-H State Council
Each year, a new batch of promising 4-H members are elected to serve on the Tennessee 4-H State Council. As the governing body and leadership group for the state’s 4-H youth development program, the Council provides leadership for state-level 4-H events and promotes 4-H across the state. The 21 members of the Council are elected by their peers annually at three statewide events – State 4-H Congress, State 4-H Roundup, and All-Star Conference.

UTK College Students Continue 4-H Experience
As one of the largest clubs on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus, the Collegiate 4-H, FFA, and Farm Bureau club empowers its 150 members to become community leaders. Once 4-H members become alumni, they are encouraged to give back to the foundation, which they can do through Collegiate 4-H, FFA, and Farm Bureau. The combination of the organizations allows them to be active in the university’s dedication to providing students with opportunities for leadership, service, and personal growth.

All It Takes Is Raising Your Hand to Volunteer
Born and raised in Cheatham County, Mike Glasgow participated in 4-H every school year he had the chance. From attending to competing in the public speaking project area, Glasgow did a little bit of everything. Now, at 77 years old, he is still actively involved in the program and looking forward to what’s to come. In recognition of his years of work as a dedicated 4-H volunteer, Glasgow was recently named the Southern Region 4-H Volunteer of the Year.

Alumni Spotlight: Hannah Wright
Hannah Wright is a fifth-generation farmer, third-generation angus cattle producer, and third-generation 4-H member. To say she has a legacy in farming and Tennessee 4-H would be quite an understatement. With grandparents and parents who all showed beef cattle, it’s no surprise that as soon as Hannah was in fourth grade, she hit the ground running to make her own 4-H legacy.
