Last Week of Fun at the 2018 California State Fair!

First Responders Appreciation Day
Thursday, July 26 - All Day

As a special thank you for their hard work and bravery, active members of law enforcement, firefighters and first responders can enjoy the Fair with free admission. Throughout the day there will be a variety of law enforcement demonstrations. Walk through the booths near the Main Gate, swing by the Save Mart California Kitchen to catch the Dinner 911 Challenge at noon, and then stop by the Horse Arena to see the Sacramento Sheriff's K-9 Unit demonstration at 4:00 p.m.

$2 Taste of the Fair

Thursday, July 26 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Today is the last day to jump in on the $2 Taste of the Fair! Every food vendor sells a sample-sized item for $2, it's the best way to try a little bit of everything at the Fair!

Live Thoroughbred Horse Racing

Thursday - Sunday, July 26 - 29 starting at 2:15 p.m.

Miller Lite Racetrack Grandstand

The last weekend of live horse racing is here. Catch the thrill of one of the oldest sports in the country right here at the California State Fair. First post time begins at 2:15 p.m., Thursday through Sunday. Stop by early and learn how to place your bets, or Spin To Win the wheel of prizes!

The Great American SPAM Championship

California Building B - Taste of California Education Center

Watch the live judging of The Great American SPAM Championship Super Simple Craveable Classics Competition of the California State Fair Canning & Baking Competition. Check out what kind of delicious food can be made with SPAM and see which ones will be named the best of the best!

Celebrate LGBTQ Pride at the Fair this Sunday! At 1:00 p.m. catch "Out at the Races" at the Miller Lite Racetrack Grandstand, at 6:00 p.m. jump into the group photo at the Main Gate, and then at 6:30 p.m. witness the Diva Drop at the Bungee Jump in the Carnival!

California State Fair Cornhole Championship

Sunday, July 29

Bring your own bags and get ready for the Cornhole Championship! Register as a junior (Ages 8 - 14) or as an adult in the Single or Doubles league. Click here to register for the Championship!

Papa Murphy's Park

New this year at Papa Murphy's Park, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers take the stage Thursday. ZZ Top holds the distinction of being one of the longest running bands with the original line-up. Listen to Billy F. Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard reflect their Texas roots with their non-stop rock and blues. Tickets to this show requires purchase of a ticketmaster ticket. Admission to the concert also gets you free admission into CA State Fair. Don't miss this show!
