Same-Store Sales Up 11% The Second Week of August

Independent grocers reported their same-store sales for the second week of August were up 11.01 percent compared to the same week in 2019. On the other hand, consumer count came back negative, this week 7.03 percent less than the same period last year.

Youth unemployment rate at 18.5% in July 2020, up from 9.1% last July

From April to July 2020, the number of employed youths 16 to 24 years old increased by 4.4 million to 17.5 million, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported this week.
