A look at what's happening at UT Health Sciences

Eight UT Health Sciences graduates commissioned through the Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program earned military promotions as they graduated this spring, launching careers that combine healthcare and military service. The university's military-friendly environment has helped generations of students prepare for careers dedicated to serving patients and their country.

UT Health Sciences alumnus Dave Bhattacharya, MD, has built his career caring for children across Southeast Tennessee while helping to train the next generation of surgeons. His lifelong connection to the university reflects a commitment to giving back to the state that helped shape him.

Before even beginning their careers, UT Health Sciences physician assistant students are working to expand healthcare access in Tennessee. Through hands-on training and advocacy, they are building careers focused on meeting the state's greatest healthcare needs, especially in rural and underserved communities.

After earning a second doctorate from UT Health Sciences, audiologist Brittany Grayless, AuD, PhD, is advancing research on tinnitus while training future clinicians. Her work is helping improve care for patients across the region and expanding understanding of a condition that affects millions.

From pediatricians to trauma surgeons, UT Health Sciences physicians deliver excellent care for patients throughout Memphis. The university's strong presence on the 2026 Memphis Top Doctors list reflects its lasting impact on the region's health and healthcare.
