Most of you know that October is national Breast Cancer Awareness month when women are encouraged to schedule their annual mammograms.  However, did you know October is also National Adopt-a-Dog from a shelter month?
In light of this, the Franklin County Humane Society is offering women the opportunity to adopt a Bosom Buddy.  During the month of Oct, the adoption fee for our dogs will be reduced to only $75.00 in celebration of breast health and the ongoing fight against breast cancer.

Let’s do everything we can to insure the women of Franklin County and the homeless pets in Franklin County have the kind of care and support they deserve.

Do you hate meeces to pieces? Come to the shelter and adopt a barn cat or two to rid your home, barn or shed of rodents big and small! We are waiving our adoption fee for these 4 legged exterminators so now is the time to adopt!
FLORIDA SEAFOOD FESTIVAL
The annual Apalachicola Seafood Festival will be held November 2nd and 3rd at Battery Park with all the usual fun, music and great food.
The Humane Society will be present again this year to showcase our adoptable dogs and cats.  In addition to our pets, we will have merchandise for sale and as usual, a basket full of free toys for your four legged friends.
Look for us just inside the back gate and remember, this event is unfortunately not pet friendly so leave fido at home.
