Announcing New Director at YWCA Phyllis Wheatley Center: Quineka Moten

YWCA is pleased to introduce the new Director of the Phyllis Wheatley Center, Quineka Moten! Quineka brings with her a rich history of serving youth and our East Knoxville community.
Over the last decade, Quineka has worked with the Knoxville Area Urban League, Great Schools Partnership (now Knox Education Foundation), and Metro Nashville Public Schools. She has served as President and is a dedicated member of the Knoxville Area Urban League Young Professionals. Quineka has also been a member of the board of directors for Centro Hispano de East Tennessee, Girls Inc., and the Knoxville Chamber's Diversity Champions.

Fun Fact: Quineka first worked with the PWC ten years ago after she graduated from college as an After-School Enrichment Counselor and Senior Program Coordinator at the Phyllis Wheatley Center! We are so glad that her experience has come full circle.

Launching "Strong Women Strong Futures" Campaign with Women's Fund of East TN

Every woman and girl deserves to make the most of herself by taking advantage of opportunities to further her education. Getting more education after high school—whether that’s taking classes at a community college, getting a certificate from a technical school, or attending a four-year college—makes it possible for women to find new and fulfilling career opportunities.
We are excited to be a part of Strong Women Strong Futures, a campaign run by a network of nonprofit organizations working to encourage women and girls to continue their education after high school. Our goal is to ensure more women and girls see postsecondary education as a real and viable option. We are coordinated and supported by the Women’s Fund of East Tennessee.
