Greetings!
It is the month of love. Many have rushed out to buy the perfect gift and organised a special event to demonstrate their love; others have resisted the temptation saying that the spirit of Valentine’s Day should be incorporated into our daily lives. In the lingering context of COVID-19 and developing of new strains, we have realised that life is unpredictable, precious, short and that we should make the best of every opportunity to embody love. Love can motivate us through these challenging circumstances.
We hoped that 2021 would allow us to return to how it was before the COVID-19 pandemic, however this is not to be. Flexibility and tenacity are the name of the game as we move forward into this new year.
We were fortunate to facilitate a productive virtual regional partner convening in the first week of February. Incubated in an emerging methodology, fresh ideas emerged, with the focus on incorporating the learnings from the Schools Out project and connecting it with the new IAM regional youth educational project (Comprehensive Sexuality Education and Access to Reproductive Health and Rights from a Religious perspective) by reimagining the activities through a COVID-19 lens. Navigating 10 partner organisations from 8 countries in a collective, emerging process, during COVID-19, remains challenging and inspirational. Originally, we would have been 30 participants in person. The virtual space allowed for more than double the participants to join this creative process. We harvested so much creativity in this collaborative virtual space and look forward to how this project(s) will unfold. We are delighted to play a life-giving role to learners on their journey. More will be shared about both projects in the coming months.
May you be encouraged to keep the faith, stay positive and adapt as we navigate through the pandemic storm. Remember LOVE WINS!
