Dr. Ciara Sivels is a nuclear engineer at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab where she studies the properties of atoms to solve complex problems. Ciara obtained her PhD in nuclear engineering from the University of Michigan in 2018, becoming the first black woman to do so at Michigan.

Aspen Meineke has been in STEM Education for 10 years with experience in teaching and curriculum writing for K-12, as well as performing professional development training for educators. She’s a youth motivational STEM speaker passionate about getting students excited about STEM subjects and careers!

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun.
