Stony Brook's John Passaro, Program Manager, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO): Behind the Scenes of WolfieONE, meet John, the maestro of action items. WolfieONE, a major institutional undertaking, depends on careful planning and execution across multiple workstreams. This month, we recognize John Passaro for his exceptional contributions, particularly within the fast-paced Human Capital Management (HCM) Design and Build sprints. John's meticulous approach to capturing intricate details has resulted in the diligent tracking of over 1,500 action items, ensuring clarity and accountability throughout the project.
Leveraging his technical expertise in reporting, John designed a powerful dashboard that categorizes and highlights action items by priority and duration. This visual tool enables the team to quickly identify bottlenecks and focus on problem-solving efforts. Furthermore, John proactively established a feedback loop with HCM workstream leads, ensuring urgent items receive immediate attention. The success of John's dashboard has led to its adoption by other workstreams, demonstrating the significant value and scalability of his data-driven approach to project management. We extend our sincere gratitude to John for his invaluable contributions to the WolfieONE project. - Heather J. McLaughlin, Senior Director of Enterprise Project Management

Aligned for Impact: The EPMO's Focus in the WolfieONE project
The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) team acts as the strategic backbone for campus projects. By providing institution-wide guidance, governance, and standardized processes, they ensure projects align with the University's mission and goals. Within the complex WolfieONE landscape, the EPMO plays a crucial role in ensuring that the diverse needs and expectations of our workstreams, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM), Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and Technology, are actively addressed. Recognizing that success hinges on the collaboration and empowerment of each workstream, the EPMO has proactively established frameworks and processes to facilitate this.
The EPMO understands the unique operational needs and strategic priorities of each functional and technical area. To effectively support them, the EPMO has aligned its leaders by workstream, and engages with the functional and technical leads to understand their specific requirements, challenges, and expectations. They collaborate and build consensus on cross-disciplinary items and opportunities as they arise.
Ensuring that the workstreams get what they need, both independently and cross-functionally, is a cornerstone of the EPMO’s approach to the WolfieONE project. EPMO leaders act as direct partners for each WolfieONE workstream. “Our goal is to equip these workstreams with the tools, information, and support they need to effectively contribute to the overall project objectives while also meeting their own critical operational needs and strategic goals,” says Heather J. McLaughlin, Senior Director of the Enterprise Project Management Team.
We commend the EPMO for their focus on collaboration and their unwavering commitment to the success of all project stakeholders.

Change Champions: To support the mission of the Change Champions and drive successful adoption of the WolfieONE processes and system, the Office of Change Management (OCM) provides regular updates, guidance, and talking points to help Champions share accurate and timely information with the campus community.
Recently, the OCM team hosted four sessions focused on WolfieONE’s Manager Self Service (MSS). These sessions showcased features designed to transform the managers' experience. Topics included HR transactions with approval workflows, faster recruiting, enhanced performance management, streamlined distribution of increases, the ability to assign training to team members, and digitized approvals for time and time-off requests.
In January, the Change Champions received training on how WolfieONE will enhance the overall employee experience. These sessions gave Champions the opportunity to learn, ask questions in real time, and prepare to share these insights with their colleagues.
