Friend of NALC,
At NALC, we provide free literacy services year-round to empower adults in Nashville with the skills they need to thrive. So far this fiscal year, we've reached incredible milestones:
|
-
292 adult learners actively enrolled in our programs. Their goals are ambitious and life-changing—whether it’s improving their community involvement, enhancing their physical and financial health, or opening doors to new opportunities.
|
-
52% of our learners are parents of school-aged children. That’s nearly 400 young lives being shaped by the power of literacy. Parents reading alongside their children is just one inspiring example of the generational impact of our work.
|
-
54 countries of origin represented. Our learners reflect the rich diversity of Nashville. We welcome adults from all backgrounds who are eager to improve their reading, writing, and English-speaking skills. With our flexible hybrid programming, we make it possible for learners to participate—no matter their schedule or life demands.
|
Every learner’s journey is unique, but together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive community—one word at a time. |
We're on track to meet or exceed the number of adults we were able to serve last year. Thank you for sticking with us as we continue this life-changing work. You can learn more about our work last year by viewing our Annual Report.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a New Year filled with hope, learning, and growth.
Thank you for being part of this mission.

Our year-end campaign, Read. Write. Thrive., is more than just words—it represents the real and powerful impact literacy has on people’s lives. Learners like Reiko, who was finally able to communicate with her child’s doctor when she had the flu.
