PROSTITUTION AND SEX TRAFFICKING
Please join me for a community conversation about neighborhood safety and learn about the resources available for women who want to stop engaging in sex work for survival. Many residents want to know how they can help reduce sex trafficking, join us to learn more about this issue and identify solutions we can work on together.

We will meet on Lake Street and 16th Avenue for an outdoor conversation, we'll bring the chairs!

Summer road construction season is here! Expect some delays for now and smooth streets and new bike lanes when the projects are completed. Projects include 26th and 28th streets, 31st Street in Powderhorn and Corcoran neighborhoods, and a number of local streets in the Central neighborhood.     The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is undergoing what may be the most comprehensive planning effort in its 130 year history. Minneapolis residents are encouraged to get involved and help the MPRB with three distinct, yet deeply intertwined projects: Closing the Gap-Investing in our Neighborhood Parks, RecQuest, and Service Area Master Plans. Get involved by attending a public meeting or subscribing to receive timely emails about the projects.

      REGISTER YOUR BLOCK PARTY FOR NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 
      National Night Out is an annual nationwide event that encourages residents to hold block parties and get to know their neighbors as a way to foster community building. Register your block party by July 21 and save $100 on the permit fee.
      POWDERHORN GATEWAY REPAIR
      This summer the City of Minneapolis will be conducting a major renovation of the Powderhorn Gateway. This artwork was created by artist Susan Fiene in 1993, as part of the Minneapolis Arts Commission’s Neighborhood Gateways program in collaboration with the Powderhorn community and Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.  The renovation includes removal of the entire structure, sandblasting and repainting, as well as shoreline-restoration work, and is planned for completion this fall.       SOUND OFF ON POLICE BODY CAMS
      The Minneapolis Police Conduct Oversight Commission is hosting three listening sessions to help guide research and drafting of a written policy for body camera use. Topics include whether members of the public support police use of body cameras, when body cameras should be turned on and off, how to protect the privacy of those recorded and public access to body camera footage.
