You can read more about the full ceremony and Mayor Jacob Frey's vision for our city in the Star Tribune coverage of the event.
Dear Neighbors,
And we're off to a fresh start with our new Mayor Jacob Frey, our new Council President Lisa Bender, and the most diverse City Council cohort in the history of the City of Minneapolis. Thank you to the many who have made this moment possible, it is truly an honor to be able to serve you for the next four years with such a dynamic group of leaders.
Looking ahead you will be hearing much more from me on the significant work of police-community relations as I've been named the Chair of our Public Safety and Emergency Management Committee. Serving with me as the Vice Chair of this committee will be the newly elected Third Ward Council Member Steve Fletcher. Our committee members are Council Vice President and Eighth Ward Council Member Andrea Jenkins, Thirteenth Ward Council Member Linea Palmisano, Fifth Ward Council Member Jeremiah Ellison, and Fourth Ward Council Member Phillipe Cunningham.
Additionally, I will be Vice Chairing the newly established Enterprise Committee chaired by Council Member Linea Palmisano and I will continue my service as a Meet Minneapolis Board Member and have accepted to sit on the Executive Committee of the Midtown Community Works Partnership. I am also a member of the Health, Energy, Civil Rights, and Engagement Committee to continue to guide our work on Green Zones and will serve on our Economic Development and Regulatory Services Committee to keep supporting the cultural corridors of our city. Two more Council appointments include having me on the American Indian Memorandum of Understanding Workgroup and our City's internal Sex Trafficking Workgroup.
You can read all the details about these appointments to our standing Council Committees, our internal appointments, and external committments and more on our City's website under the Organizational Meeting agenda.
The next few weeks will involve us getting our new office ready, establishing a steady rhythm to our calendar and committee work as well as getting to know new collegues and staff in City Hall. Our office remains connected and committed to getting you the best service on constituent requests, please know we are only a phone call away!
Thank you for letting me do this work with you and for you in City Hall,
