Puget Sound is proud to announce Ansel Chan ’29 of Oakland, California, and Claire Meyer ’29 of Grapevine, Texas, as this year's recipients of the Lillis Scholarship. The Lillis Scholarship, generously funded by Gwendolyn H. Lillis P’05 and Charles M. Lillis P’05 through The Lillis Foundation, recognizes academic excellence, intellectual independence, and a commitment to pursuing excellence throughout a student’s educational journey. This scholarship covers tuition, fees, and room and board for up to four years at Puget Sound.

Leadership for Counselors

Master of Education in Counseling student Allie Watkins MEd’26 was recently elected to the Washington School Counselor Association Board, where she’ll serve as the board’s graduate student representative for the 2025–26 academic year. The Washington School Counselor Association (WSCA) is a professional organization that expands the image and influence of professional school counselors through advocacy, leadership, collaboration, and systemic change at the state level.

Over the weekend, Logger scholar-athlete Cian Monaghan ’26 braved wind and rain at the Northwest Conference Cross Country Championships to win the men's individual conference title. Monaghan completed his eight muddy kilometers around the PLU course in 25 minutes, 16.2 seconds to capture the title and earn a trip to the regionals on Nov. 15.

ICW is the leading advocate for not-for-profit, private campuses in Washington state, enabling students to pursue their college aspirations and helping the state achieve its post-secondary attainment goal.

Directed by Associate Professor Wind Woods and Assistant Director Ashlyne Collado ’26, The Caucasian Chalk Circle tells the story of Grusha, a servant who risks her safety and happiness to raise an abandoned child during a fictional civil war. When the boy’s biological mother returns to claim him, the dispute is brought before an unorthodox judge whose courtroom exposes the corrupt nature of power. The play runs through Nov. 7 in Norton Clapp Theatre. Learn more and get your tickets.
