Fred Johnson III, professor of history at Hope College, will deliver the keynote address at Puget Sound’s Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Jan. 18 in Kilworth Memorial Chapel.

The World Through Abby’s Eyes exhibit runs Jan. 8–April 30 in Collins Memorial Library, highlighting the lives of women in the American West during the early 20th century.

New Year Honors

Alumnus Kevin Billings ’77 was named an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to the Royal Air Force. A former assistant secretary of the United States Air Force, Billings is one of three Americans serving as an honorary group captain in the RAF's 601 Squadron, which advises military leaders on a variety of emerging issues.

Dominant Wins

Logger Men's and Women's Basketball ended 2023 with two decisive victories. On Dec. 29, the men secured a 99–46 win over Douglas College and on Dec. 30, the women notched an 86–60 victory over Corban University.
