Apply to Attend the 2019 Inclusion Workshop

The 2019 NSDA Inclusion Workshop for coaches and educators is now open for applications! The workshop will take place August 7-8 in Colorado Springs, following the National Conference. The workshop is free for attendees and limited financial support for housing is available.

Attendees will learn strategies for effective engagement in dialogue about racial diversity, inclusion, and achievement gaps in education. At the recommendation of our facilitators, space at the workshop is limited and the makeup of our attendees will reflect the demographics of our student membership.

Nominate Your Student for a District Award

The District Student of the Year award is presented to a graduating senior in each district who best represents the tenets of the Association’s Code of Honor: integrity, respect, humility, leadership, and service. Each year, six students who win the district award are selected as finalists for the William Woods Tate, Jr., National Student of the Year award. The recipient serves as an advocate for speech and debate for the following year. Check out a profile on the current award holder Elena Cecil here!

To nominate a student for your district's award, please complete the nomination form and a copy will be sent to your district chair for consideration. Not sure what makes a student stand out? Public Forum Topic Release

Spread the word! Alumni from your program can sign up for one of our two alumni lists to receive a quarterly newsletter with information about National Tournament results, livestreams, upcoming events, and more!

Streamline How Students Sign Up for Tournaments

The Tabroom Signup System allows you to do away with that sheet of paper in the corner of your classroom where competitors illegibly sign up for tournaments. With this feature, you simply confirm the data the student has entered. Plus, it notifies debate/duo partners and parents when the student signs up! Read more »
