The Gas Station Attendant, by amazing filmmaker Karla Murthy, recently premiered at the Sheffield DocFest and came within a whisker of winning the festival. It’s a story of a daughter trying to make sense of her immigrant father’s choices (and her own) and in the process, grappling with big questions about the American Dream. Reviews have been over-the-top gushing.
