X-STEM San Diego Highlights

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us in-person at X-STEM San Diego! We had nearly 2,000 students, educators, and parents attend X-STEM San Diego on April 19th.
Emcee Maynard Okereke "Hip Hop M.D." kept our audience entertained and informed throughout the event.
Students were transported into the vast expanse of space with Kevin J DeBruin and shown the importance of animal conservation from Dr. Mrinalini Watsa.
Attendees were shown the wonders of DNA by Illumina's very own Dr. Janina Jeff and were captivated by a STEM concert by David "Mr. D" Landix and LaMar "Mr. Q-U-E" Queen from Music Notes
General Atomics' very own Debra Roy and Chuck Wright inspired all in the field of aeronautics and the growing industry of unmanned aircraft.
We are so thankful to all of our X-STEM San Diego speakers for coming together to create this wonderful event!
We are excited to continue to spread the love of STEM across the globe in 2022 and beyond!
If you couldn't join us in San Diego, we have you covered! X-STEM All Access brings inspiring role models to you at home, in the classroom, or wherever you may be.

X-STEM San Diego Workshops

Not only did students get to hear from an inspiring group of STEM professionals but students also had the opportunity to get hands-on with STEM in special workshops!
Students got to participate in a STEAM oriented game show hosted by lllumina and Generation STEAM.
UCSD’s Bioengineering Graduate Society (BEGS) taught students about the function of lungs with a hands on balloon activity as well as how to extract DNA from a strawberry in order to get a greater understanding of various genetic applications.
General Atomics Sciences Education Foundation captured their students' attention with magnetism and the light spectrum. Students even got to take home their very own spectroscope!
Thank you to all of our wonderful workshop hosts for bringing STEM to life for our X-STEM San Diego students!
