Happening Now

WOW!
3T went to Nicaragua with a mission to interact with the community and empower youth. They achieved just that! They ran daily events in arts, athletics and academics with the end goal to get the community involved. Over 100 kids and 50 volunteers helped out. Talk about awesomesauce!
It was truly an unbelievable opportunity to explore and expand 3T to an international community in need.
We could not be more pleased with this amazing experience!

Imagine getting to experience Christmas morning over and over again.
That’s kind of what it’s been like recently thanks to a few partnerships we’ve formed with Chicago White Sox players. It’s awesome to see kids’ eyes light up when they see some of their favorite baseball players in the world right in front of them.
Over the past few months, I’ve become friends with a few White Sox players, and they’ve really gone to bat for 3T kids! Adrian Nieto, Jose Quintana, Andre Rienzo, and Lino Diaz have hooked us up multiple times with a DOPE experience at U.S. Cellular Field. We’ve gotten to already bring more than a dozen 3T kids on the field for a baseball experience that money can’t buy: sitting in player seats during the game and hanging out on the field and talking to players before the game when they warm up.
I assumed that when we took kids from our baseball history program Bases Loaded to meet the players, they’d be stoked out of their minds.
They were.
But I didn’t expect the same excitement out of the players. Daaaang… was I ever wrong! The Sox players were straight up excited to kick it with 3T kids. It wasn’t just a quick high-5 and run — the players spent some quality time with our kids, giving them an experience I’m sure they’ll remember forever.
I knew that Adrian, Jose, Andre and Lino were nice players. Turns out, they’re just good human beings who truly care for the community and future generations.
You might not be a pro baseball player, but chances are you have something just as special to share with at-risk youth. Let us know what that is, and get involved TODAY!
Triple Threat partnered with Nike for Learn Your Game, a 3-day event focusing on youth. Learn Your Game was part of Nike’s week of activities ramping up for the World Basketball Festival.
Triple Threat led daily sessions for 100 youth, themed Overcoming Obstacles. Obstacle courses, team building activities, athletic competitions, special guest appearances and a unique group time were all a part of the fun for youth! The program encouraged students to overcome obstacles and to understand, unlock and unleash their individual potential.
Big high-5 to Nike and all the youth that took part in this event. It was a blast!

Triple Threat youth and volunteers got their sweat on at Westcott Elementary Basketball Program. Youth were coached in drills, skills, teamwork and brought their ‘A' game to the court.

Holy Moly! We’ve had some rock-star kids and volunteers at our summer Football and Softball clinics. Kids had fun and learned some skills! Fist bumps to you all. And big high-5's to former Bear Ray McElroy for dedicating his time to the Football clinic and NCC Softball Coach Jim Kulawiak for leading the Softball clinic. You guys rock!

PARTNER POWER!

Thanks to our partner Fox Valley United Way for awarding Triple Threat grant funding to support the Urban Garden program for 2014 - 2015. Students learn about healthy nutrition and develop gardening skills as they grow a harvest of plants and vegetables. FVUW is giving youth an opportunity to learn, gain skills, go on field trips and have a lot of fun watching their work grow into a harvest.
