Student Spotlight
Olivia Mauchley
Meet Olivia Mauchley! She’s a sociology major and a Solutions Scholar. "I am currently the Peer Advisor for BlockU Medical Humanities, Assembly Representative for the College of Social and Behavioral Science, Program Director for the VA Nursing Home, and a member of the Bennion Center Service House. I enjoy serving my community through all of these opportunities I have been given. I have a goal to attend medical school in the future. After taking a sociology 1010 class my freshman year at the University of Utah I knew this was the right major for me. Sociology is important to me because I learn about how to increase my own civic engagement with issues our society is facing. I am able to connect to my community and offer up solutions and assistance to the issues at hand."
Meet Your Online Instructor: Dr. Trisha Weeks

Do you know Dr. Trisha Weeks, one of the outstanding faculty teaching online courses in the Department of Psychology? Passionate about teaching and possessing a fantastic dry wit, Dr. Weeks recently completed a redevelopment of the online PSY 3000 (Statistical Methods in Psychology) course. Building on the course developed by the textbook author, faculty emeritus Dr. Oakley Gordon, Dr. Weeks designed additional lab activities, videos, and resources to help students master SPSS, one of the most widely used statistical analysis applications.
When it comes to her time spent outside of campus, Dr. Weeks enjoys running in the mountains, making apple pie, reading young adult fiction with her 7th grader, and hugging her adult children any time they drop by.
To learn more about Dr. Weeks, as well as see a list of both the face-to-face and online courses she will be teaching during the spring, visit her faculty teaching profile.
