Progress and Praise

Dear Donors and Friends of Ambleside,

We have so much to be grateful for this October, as children learn and grow at our current location (including our first graduating senior class), and work continues to adapt our future home for our move early in 2025.

We’ve come so far together: we recently passed our framing and electrical inspections on our renovation of the new building, and drywall is being added to our classrooms. The learning footprint is taking shape, and it is exciting to anticipate students there soon. Be sure to watch our video and look at the photos below for the current progress.

Gifts continue to roll in from donors who made three year capital commitments, and we appreciate your faithfulness and generosity. Your resources are being used to literally build our classrooms, stud by stud, carpet square by square, and desk by desk. We can’t do it without you.

Yet we have more work to do. Our campaign isn’t finished. Any meaningful journey has mile-markers to hit along the way, and we have a few key steps to hit to complete our project. Most urgently, we need an additional $220,000 in campaign commitments by November 1st to break ground on our outdoor play area and ensure it is ready for spring planting and student play in the new year.

And let’s not lose sight of our ultimate goal: to complete our $13.5 million dollar campaign by January 2027 so that we can fully pay off our loan, avoid a long-term mortgage, and ensure our school is debt-free for future growth and student impact.

Our contractors, PMG Construction, have been hard at work on electrical and framing, so that in just a few months, our students will be learning in these rooms.

Building and Playground Update

Praise the Lord with us! In the past week, we passed our framing and electrical inspections. For those who have construction and renovation experience, personally or professionally, you know this is a big milestone following big effort. Our partner, PMG Construction, is installing drywall for new classrooms this week.

We have raised $80,000 of the needed $300,000 to build the playground. With those funds, heavy equipment is on site for grading and boulder delivery and placement, to prepare the playground naturescape area. Many families have creatively raised money, we have sought grants, and we are trusting the Lord for the remainder to complete this portion of the building project.

Giving Time Line

We are moving forward with work on the interior and exterior of the building, in faith that we will complete the $13.5M campaign and pay down the debt incurred.

The one exception to this is the playground. Our hope is to make efficient use of time and funds to complete the playground simultaneously with civil and landscaping work, but our greater priority is to guard the long-term financial health of the school. We are following the wise direction of our Board to not build the playground with money we do not yet have. This means that in order to complete the playground by our projected January move-in date, we will need to raise $220K in additional commitments by November 1.

How You Can Pray

Praise God that the rezoning amendment was unanimously approved by the Lone Tree Planning Commission and City Council. Share our gratitude for everyone who contributed to make this possible: the fruitful on-the-ground-work by our community members, collaboration with our Galloway and CBRE partners, and prayer and continued support from our students, families, and community.
Praise Him for the relationships that are growing with our new neighbors in Lone Tree. Pray that young local families will fill our remaining Kindergarten and 1st grade openings.
Pray that the Lord will provide the remaining $1.3M needed to complete the campaign, and particularly for the $220K to complete the playground by the time students arrive on campus in January.
Students and teachers are also hard at work this fall! Praise God for the opportunity to grow in partnership with parents during Parent Teacher Conferences this week. Pray for our music teacher and students as they prepare for November's Veterans Chapel. Pray for our seniors (see below!) as they embark on their final year with us.
Pray for Mr. Hayes, Ms. Whitley, and Mr. Perkins as they join other principals next week for the annual Ambleside Schools International Principals Conference.

Mr. Hayes and Ms. Whitley honored our seniors with a breakfast out this month.

We can't wait to see our first graduation in the new building next spring!

We were also recently featured in BusinessDen and the Denver Post. The article announced the purchase of the Lone Tree property, but also shared our unique approach to a new audience. The publications gifted a pdf link and we encourage you to share. Praise God with us that news of Ambleside's impact is reaching a wider audience. We are actively working on connecting with local news outlets, and appreciate any connections our community has to offer in the Lone Tree, Parker, Highlands Ranch, and surrounding municipalities.
