City Council appoints Lon Pluckhahn as Vancouver's next City Manager
|
Following a national recruitment process, including multiple interviews and community Q&A sessions with the finalists, Vancouver City Council voted to appoint Lon Pluckhahn as our next City Manager at their Aug. 12 meeting. Lon currently serves as our Deputy City Manager and brings 30 years of experience in local government to the role.

Police services levy on Nov. ballot
|
Public safety is consistently a priority issue for the community. On July 15, City Council unanimously approved placing Proposition 4, a levy to fund police services, on the Nov. 5 General Election ballot.

Vancouver Police Chief Mori to retire in October
|
|
|
In July, Police Chief Jeff Mori announced his intent to retire on Oct. 11. His reasons for retiring are personal, including his desire to take a step back from the inherent pressures that come with leadership duties and responsibilities of his position and re-evaluate his work-life balance. Please join us in thanking Chief Mori for more than five years of service with VPD and 31 in law enforcement.

Safety improvements ahead for 29th and 33rd Streets
|

We're exploring ways to improve safety and mobility for all people using 29th Street between Kauffman Avenue and Neals Lane, and 33rd Street between Kauffman Avenue and Grand Boulevard. Based on findings from technical analysis and your feedback, we're drafting design recommendations to share with the community later this summer.
