Winning Haiku Now on Display
Presented by DTP and the UA Poetry Center, the 6th Annual Haiku Hike literary competition showcases twenty winning haiku displayed on acrylic signage in beautiful planters along Congress Street and Stone Avenue. This year’s theme is Belonging. Tucson's Poet Laureate, TC Tolbert, selected the winning haiku from 1,954 submissions, with 1,187 from Tucson and the rest from 34 states and 31 countries.

🌆 Downtown Tucson Partnership and the UA Poetry Center hosted a guided Haiku Hike on Saturday with over 20 attendees, including a few winners. One winner traveled as far as Chandler and shared their poem aloud.

Arizona's Tallest Mural Revealed
Local muralist Joe Pagac and his wife, Lenka, have completed "Desert Colossus," a stunning 153-foot mural on the Transamerica Building at 177 N. Church Avenue. Commissioned by philanthropist Jeanne McDonald, this mural is part of the Activate El Presidio project, which aims to bring vibrant placemaking to the El Presidio Historic District. Spearheaded by Rio Nuevo and additional stakeholders, this initiative is designed to attract visitors, support community-driven activations and honor this culturally significant area while boosting local businesses and attractions.
