Teen Digital Literacy Camp

Join us for a free digital literacy camp for young people ages 11-21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This in-person camp runs the week of July 22 and will be led by Dr. Mary Jo Krile, PhD, an expert specializing in teaching digital literacy to young adults with IDD. Participants will learn about the risks and benefits of technology tools in a fun and safe environment.

Winners Leading the Way!

The Arc Montgomery County was well represented at The Arc Maryland State Annual Convention and Awards Banquet. Clyde Agnew, Jr., Director of Human Resources & Staff Development, received the Legacy Award, and Niambi Heyward, Childcare Center Director, received the School Inclusion Award. Outstanding Employee of the Year–DSP, went to Marie Rosaline Mathai from Employment & Meaningful Day Services, and the Chapter Volunteer of the Year award was granted to SECU Maryland. Congratulations to the recipients for a job well done!

Community Safety Resources

Potomac Community Resources, Inc., will host a virtual Transition Times event on Wednesday, June 12 at 7 pm on Montgomery County Police Resources and Community Safety Tips. The presentation includes Montgomery County Police Department outreach/initiatives, wandering prevention, and other safety tips for people with IDD, their families, and caregivers. The free webinar will be led by Officer Laurie Reyes from the Montgomery County Police Autism/IDD, Alzheimer’s and Dementia Outreach Unit.
Job Fair

STAND Together

This peer-led advocacy group meets virtually on the second Wednesday of each month, from 4–5 pm. Join your voice with others as various topics of interest to the group are covered such as learning to speak up for yourself, decision-making, expressing your ideas, and building a network of friends.
