Read This Next: The Acrobat by Edward J. Delaney
On October 29, author Edward J. Delaney was interviewed on NPR’s Weekend Edition, where he talked with host Scott Simon about his new Cary Grant-inspired novel, The Acrobat. “It’s interesting to look at who he thought he was and who he really was, and how those two personas worked together,” says Delaney. The novel was also reviewed by the Los Angeles Times on October 28, with critic Mark Athitakis praising how “Delaney writes simply and beautifully about Grant,” and it’s received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Kirkus Reviews, plus recent coverage in USA Today and Town & Country.

Translation, Marxism, and Postwar Intellectuals in the New York Times Book Review
Three Consortium titles recently received prominent full reviews in the New York Times Book Review .
In her review on October 22, critic Lily Meyer praises Elisa Shua Dusapin’s novel The Pachinko Parlor for its “delicate translation” by Aneesa Abbas Higgins and the “meditative portrait of one woman finding herself, as well as a moving reflection on language’s capacity to divide us from others—and ourselves.”
Finally, Graeme Macrae Burnet’s Booker-longlisted Case Study was reviewed for the NYTBR by critic Christian Lorentzen on November 1. “Case Study is a diverting novel, overflowing with clever plays on and inversions of tropes of English intellectual and social life during the postwar decades,” writes Lorentzen. “[It] has a lot in common with the novels of Vladimir Nabokov and Roberto Bolaño.”
