Federation's Rabbis Mission to Israel
Last week, Federation brought together eight rabbis from across Greater Washington for a solidarity mission to Israel. In addition to meeting with Israel’s President Isaac Herzog and US Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew, the group visited Hostage Square in Tel Aviv, the center of gathering in support of the hostage families, and with leaders from organizations supported by Federation’s Israel Crisis Response Funds.

National Mobilization Week to Advocate for Israel
This week, American Jews across the country are calling Congress to urge our elected officials to stand with Israel. Now, more than ever, Israel needs our unequivocal support as they work to free the hostages and defeat Hamas. You can help ensure this support by taking a few moments to call your members of congress and urge them to continue standing with Israel.

Morality & Peoplehood in a Time of War

Arab, Israeli, & Proud with Yoseph Haddad
Join the Israeli American Council of DC to hear from Yoseph Haddad, a prominent Israeli Arab social activist deeply engaged in advocacy, as he shares his unique journey from his childhood in Nazareth to volunteering for the IDF during the Second Lebanon War. During his lecture, Haddad will delve into the collaborative efforts between Jews and Arabs in Israel, address the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and touch on the ongoing conflict and the propaganda tactics of Hamas.

Enveloped in Light: A Chanukah Tribute to the Israelis of
the Gaza Envelope
In the spirit of Chanukah, B’nai Israel Congregation will exhibit eight pieces of art depicting the beauty of different communities in the Gaza Envelope (Otef Aza), the region around Gaza which includes many villages and kibbutzim (agricultural communal settlements) that were directly impacted by the October 7th attacks. Prints will be available for purchase and all proceeds will be donated.

Light up the night (virtually) during eight nights of Chanukah with Federation partners, Bender JCC, Edlavitch DCJCC, and Pozez JCC of Northern VA. Whether or not you have your own Chanukiah (candelabra lit for Chanukah) to light, please join us each night as we spread light throughout Greater Washington.

Join Federation partner, Edlavitch DCJCC, for the December 25 Day of Service, their largest volunteer event of the year, with hundreds of volunteers spreading holiday cheer across the DC metro area. Choose from a variety of projects based on location, type of activity, or time of day – there are options for people of all ages and abilities!

| Summer Camp Grant Applications Now Open for 2024!
One Happy Camper grants for summer 2024 are now available! First-time campers are eligible for up to $1,000 from The Jewish Federation and the Foundation for Jewish Camp's One Happy Camper incentive grant program. If applying for a child who attends day school, your application must include a valid PJ Library Goes to Camp Code (for more information on this, please contact pjgtc@hgf.org).
