¡FELIZ DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS!
In the Middle School on October 30, our student-led Day of the Dead celebration turned the Great Hall and the Allen Library into a corner of Mexico for an afternoon.
In the 17th year of this anticipated annual St M tradition, eighth graders researched and cooked authentic Mexican dishes for everyone, learning as they did about the origins of many popular foods. Seventh graders prepared beautiful ofrendas (offerings) and made oral and written presentations in Spanish and English to celebrate and commemorate the lives of family members who have passed away. Sixth graders attended as special guests. What a fiesta!
Be sure to check out our Media Gallery for photos of ALL the St M HALLOWEEN fun this week!

Thanksgiving Food DriveSt. Michael's annual all-school food drive is November 11-21. Donations will benefit the St. Michael's Church Food Pantry, which provides meals for approximately 900 people each month, including monthly support for Friends of the Homeless and Monarch Woods Senior Housing.
Items that are always needed include:
- Chef Boyardee canned meals
- Cereal, all varieties
- Canned Meats (SPAM, Tuna, Chicken)
- Canned Beans, all varieties
- Paper Towels
- Bathroom Tissue

Food items will be collected in homerooms and advisories.
Please ensure the canned goods you donate from your pantry have not expired. (No glass jars, please.)
The food collected will be blessed at our Thanksgiving Chapel service. Love in All Caps
We did not have Chapel this week and so I want to send a simple message to acknowledge not only the joy and work of this full week– our Dia de Los Muertos fiesta, an astounding Middle School open mic event, Halloween parties and scarecrow contests – but also the holiness weaving through all of it, knitting us together in a common life and purpose to nurture, educate, and love our children well while taking good care of one another as fellow pilgrims on the journey. -Chaplain Allison Seay
