Potential State and Federal Grant Opportunity: Application Closes July 2
A federal notice of a funding opportunity is open that may be relevant for your program or another organization you work closely with. This grant is administered directly by the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) and the grant is to prevent and respond to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and sex trafficking against children and youth. This grant opportunity requires the applicant to register and apply through Grants.gov (a federal grants site) and follow their directions and requirements. Texas CASA does not manage or participate in this grant, but we want to share state and federal grant funding opportunities that may be of possible interest to your program.

Recruitment Bounty: Tip of the Month
With the school year ending, the upcoming month of June is the perfect time to reach out to your local athletic coaches and ask them to get involved with Coaches for CASA. While coaches themselves most likely don’t have time to volunteer, they are well-recognized leaders in their communities and can help get the word out about CASA. Work with your local coaches to make a video of them sharing the need for and the importance of CASA volunteers. Share it on your social channels and have the coaches get you in touch with the media team at the stadiums they play at to have it played during games in the next school year. Check out examples, scripts and more in the Coaches for CASA toolkit.
