Quarterly Data Update from Texas CASA
During FY25 Quarter 3, local CASA programs in Texas served 1,804 children with 522 dedicated volunteers. Since last quarter, the number of children served has increased by ~25% across local CASA programs in Texas. Compared to FY24 Quarter 3, the number of children served has increased by approximately 7%.
Across the state, volunteer interest remained strong in FY25 Quarter 3 with 887 applications submitted, 479 new volunteers beginning training and 332 new volunteers officially sworn in after completing pre-service training. Also in this quarter, 7 CASA programs successfully served 100% of children with a CASA volunteer. Texas CASA is honored to support the incredible efforts of the local CASA programs that bring these numbers to life every day. Thank you for everything you do for children and families across Texas!

STAR Monthly Zoom: A Presentation about Community Resource Coordination Groups (CRCGs)
Please join the STAR team in welcoming Stephanie Holmes at our July 28 STAR Monthly Zoom for a presentation about Community Resource Coordination Groups (CRCGs). Holmes is part of the HHSC CRCG team, which is housed in the Children's Mental Health section of HHSC’s Behavioral Health Services division.
More exciting news: At the monthly Zoom, a new resource will be launched! We know how difficult it can be to identify local resources to meet each individual family's needs, therefore in coordination with information on Community Resource Coordination Groups, we will also share our new resource: a Local Service Directory Template and ideas on how to create a living Local Service Directory for your program's volunteers and families.

Recruitment Bounty: Tip of the Month
Research shows that someone is more likely to volunteer if they can do so with a friend. Since CASA allows for a pair of volunteers on a case, consider making this part of your recruitment strategy. Check out this social media post from CASA in the Heart of Texas seeking “CASA teams” and how people can volunteer together to make a difference.
