CFE Tools Delivered to Local Programs
The 2nd C of CFE is Cultivate. We accomplish this in CFE through the use of CFE tools or activities. The goal of the CFE tools or activities is to connect and engage with the youth and family you are working with. Every year, a large part of our CFE budget from DFPS is for the creation/development of new CFE tools and to purchase more of the existing resources for CFE implementers to use with children and families across the state.

STAR Monthly Zoom: Part 2 of Advocating for Dual-Status Youth
Please join STAR's monthly Zoom for part 2 of the series on Advocating for Dual-Status youth. We know that youth in foster care are disproportionately represented in the juvenile and criminal justice systems and that these "dual-system" youth are at an even greater risk for mental health, education and vocational challenges, as well as having higher rates of suicide, drug use and homelessness. Part 2 of our Dual-Status Youth series will be September 30 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

Driver Education Funding Program
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) helps young people who are in foster care transition to adulthood. These young adults may not have a way to get around by car or bus, which often makes it difficult for them to find jobs, so the government has created a program to help! The Drivers Education Funding program will pay for driver’s education classes for people who qualify, such as youth in foster care, helping them learn how to drive and get a driver’s license. The program will cover all the costs for training and related fees.
