Wisconsin 4-H and AmeriCorps |
Wisconsin 4-H has received an AmeriCorps grant to help us expand our impact statewide! Thanks to funding from Serve Wisconsin, AmeriCorps members will be serving throughout Wisconsin, strengthening our 4-H community and growing our programs.
Dodge County Extension was fortunate to have funding for two AmeriCorps members who will be serving in Dodge County starting on June 15th.

Wisconsin 4-H AmeriCorps programs aim to increase capacity of youth serving organizations in counties throughout Wisconsin. The members will work directly with community partnership in youth serving organizations to discover opportunities to grow capacity and reach new young people or develop new youth programming. Our members will be located primarily in the County Extension Office, but may travel to community partners locations (schools, libraries, youth organizations, non profits, etc.) throughout Dodge County.

Hats Off to All Who Attended Tri-County Summer 4-H Camp! |
|
|
Last week, we held the Tri-County Summer 4-H Camp. It was a great week with 100 campers, counselors and adults at camp from the three counties. The weather was fairly cooperative. The youth seemed to have a great time during the week. In addition to the campers, thanks to all of the counselors that helped during the week, especially from Dodge County: Olivia Downey, Izzy Justmann, and Harper Zillmer. I really owe a great thanks to our adult volunteers who helped out: Jason Luedtke, Ally Roberts, Jessica Rynearson, Izzy Haeft, and Molly Damm.
Congratulations to Dodge County campers that were awarded some shout outs and camp awards!

We need your keen eyes and fresh perspectives to judge the Cloverbud projects at the county fair on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership skills and support younger 4-H members. Choose from three convenient time slots – sign up for one, two, or all three! Judging is from 1-7 pm.
New to judging? No problem! We've got you covered with a training session on August 5 at 6:00pm in the Youth Building. If you've judged before, you're all set – no need for repeat training.
Questions? Reach out to Anne Rinzel at adrinzel@gmail.com. Let's make this a great fair!

We still have spots open at the fair in the food stands (cream puff, ice cream farm bureau, and fish pond) and are in desperate need for promotion booth helpers. If you can volunteer some time, add your name to the list!

Our Dodge County Pig Pals Swine Spectacular Show is looking for 4-H and FFA Swine Project members that are involved with the Swine Project this year. This is a great activity that offers people with disabilities a chance to shine in the show ring with your help. This is also a great way to grow your leadership by partnering or working within the show in a variety of roles. Our show is scheduled for Sunday, August 17th beginning with all arriving at 9:15 am.
We will once again be expecting approximately 20 Pig Pal participants so that means we’ll need: * 20 swine exhibitor mentors to be partners along with 20 well trained pigs (7th gr. & up)
|
| - barn safety people, lots of them to make it a safe show (youth and adults)
- ring safety workers (youth and adults)
- water safety youth (1st/2nd year swine members)
|
Parents and adults associated with swine project members can also volunteer. ALL volunteers will receive a Dodge County Pig Pals T-shirt too. This is a really fun and rewarding opportunity for all involved. T-shirt order due by June 1st.
Please contact Mary Pat Boschert at 920-382-7943, call or text or email at
billboschert@gmail.com to volunteer names and t-shirt sizes, and answer any questions. Thanks everyone!
