New Parent Newsletter - April 21

Welcome! The next few months will be a flurry of excitement, information, and activity as we prepare for your child(ren)’s arrival on campus in August. To help keep you on track, we are pleased to share the first issue of the New Parent Newsletter, which includes important information about time-sensitive items.  
You will receive the New Parent Newsletter every other week through June 2. After that date, you will receive the June, July, and August editions of the Weekly Way newsletter, which is sent to all current parents.

Mark your family calendar now for our new student and parent event on Sunday, May 15, 1 - 4 p.m. The Admissions team will send a separate email in early May with full details. 
Course Scheduling, Auditions, and Placement Tests
Academic Planning Sessions via Zoom on Monday, April 25
  • Parents of rising 7th graders at 6 p.m. Join Here
  • Parents of rising 9th graders at 6:45 p.m. Join Here
Course Scheduling Deadlines
  • 7th and 9th Grade Students: Friday, April 29 via Google Form
  • All Other Grades: Wednesday, April 27 directly with the Marist Registrar
Middle School Band & Chorus Auditions Ongoing
  • Band beginning April 25
  • Chorus next session April 25
Placement Tests Ongoing
  • Math beginning April 26: mandatory for 9th graders and optional for 7th graders interested in Honors Pre-Algebra
  • Honors Biology beginning April 26: optional for 9th graders
  • Language final session April 27: optional for 8th and 9th graders interested in starting foreign language study above Level I
Required Health Forms
All newly enrolled students must submit the required health forms and complete the required health-related tasks by June 3. If your child is trying out for cheerleading, volleyball, or softball, he/she must have three Georgia High School Association forms on file with a physical exam dated on or after April 1, 2021, before the first day of tryouts. See below for tryout dates. 
Fall Sports Tryouts & Performing Arts Auditions
  • Cheerleading: April 26-29 for grades 8 through 12
  • Volleyball: May 16-17 for grades 9 through 12
  • Fast-Pitch Softball: May 17-19 for grades 9 through 12 
  • Marist Dance Company: May 17 for grades 9 through 12
  • Fall Theater Production (title TBA!): May 19 for grades 9 through 12
Middle School Cross Country
Calling all 7th and 8th graders! Cross country at Marist is not only a fun, no-cut sport, but also a great way to get to know new classmates before school begins. If your child is interested in joining the team, please complete our Google Form to receive additional information. The first practice is August 8, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. on the front fields. Marist Campus Store
Welcome from the Marist Campus Store! We can supply you with uniform polos, PE uniforms, ties, spirit wear, gifts, and more. Coming soon: our online uniform store (pre-order for August pick up) and fall sports merchandise. We are located in Winchester Lobby in Ivy Street Center.
Store hours are Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. For questions, email or call (770) 936-2264. All purchases are tax-free, and proceeds benefit the school.
