Dear Community Members,
The Campus Beautification Committee and university Origami Club are excited to invite you to participate in a special community initiative that celebrates peace, hope, perseverance, community, and family through the beauty of origami art. We're calling all passionate artists, origami enthusiasts, and anyone with an imaginative spark to join us in designing an origami flag that will reflect the diversity and spirit of our community. Origami Flag Design Contest: Unleash Your Creativity!
We believe that art has the power to bring people together and inspire meaningful connections. In the spirit of this belief, we are organizing an Origami Flag Design Contest, and we want YOU to be a part of it!
The process is simple: -Create your unique origami flag design that symbolizes the essence of our community and its values. (The design could draw inspiration from our history, traditions, culture, or anything that embodies the heart of our community) -Snap a picture of your creation and send it to us via our online form by August 27. (Feel free to include a brief description of the inspiration behind your design)
By participating, you get a chance to have your origami flag that will be made of 1,000 paper cranes and displayed prominently on campus, showcasing your artistic talent for everyone to admire. Additionally, the top three designs will receive exciting prizes as a token of our gratitude.
1,000 Cranes: The Power of Unity
As we embark on this artistic endeavor, we also want to infuse it with a sense of collective purpose and hope. You might be familiar with the ancient Japanese tradition of folding 1,000 origami cranes, which is said to grant the folder a wish.
We are undertaking the journey of folding 1,000 cranes as a community. With each crane, we will collectively imbue it with a heartfelt wish for the world, our community, and each other. What wish would you have us make during the creation of these 1,000 cranes?
How to participate: -Take a moment to reflect on your deepest wish or aspiration. It could be something personal, global, or anything that you believe will make a positive impact. -Write down your wish and send it to us via our online form by August 27. (Feel free to include a brief description of the inspiration behind your wish)
Let's come together to fill our community with joy, art, and the power of shared dreams. We eagerly await your origami flag designs and the heartfelt wishes that will accompany the 1,000 cranes.
Thank you for being an essential part of our vibrant community at Stony Brook!
