|
As nature illustrates, spring is a great time for a fresh start! Family RV Association is entering this season with a new name and a new logo that fit the mission of being a welcoming community for owners of all types of RVs. Don’t worry, though. We haven’t forgotten our roots. Thousands of motorhome owners continue to be part of the family. The idea is to focus less on the types of RVs members own and more on the good times we can have together. Help us to spread the word about Family RV Association wherever your travels take you!

Happy spring!

Stay Connected With Family RV Association
Emails: The main way Family RV Association communicates with members is via email. To stay informed about all the goings-on, make sure your current email address is on file and that you are opted in to receive messages. You’re in control of what you receive. To manage your preferences, log into your member account and visit the member Dashboard. Click on My Email to find a list of the categories. While there, check the email address that’s listed for your account. You can update your email address anytime by logging into your member account and clicking on My Profile; or send an email to membership@frva.com. The same goes for your postal mailing address.
|
Social media: You’ll find Family RV Association friends on all the popular social media platforms. Here’s a list of where we’re hanging out:
|
Forums: Have you visited the Family RV Association Forums? Endless information is available at community.fmca.com, with topics ranging from buying an RV to electrical issues, tires, destinations, and tips for towing a vehicle behind a motorhome. Anyone can read the comments, but to post a comment or question, you need to be a Family RV Association member and to sign in using your member account info.
|
Community: Even better than connecting with fellow RVers online are in-person gatherings. That’s where Family RV Association shines! One of the best ways to get to know other RV enthusiasts is to join a chapter. With nearly 300 chapters organized on the basis of RV brand, geographic area, or special interest, Family RV Association has a group for everyone. And if you can’t find a chapter that meets your needs, Family RV Association staff will help you to start one! In addition to chapter rallies, members can gather in person at area rallies and international conventions. There’s always somewhere fun to be and great people to connect with.

Classic or New?
Members who’d like to join Family RV Association in embracing our new identity may want to order a new membership plate or window cling for their home on wheels. Replacement membership plates and clings now are emblazoned with the Family RV Association name instead of Family Motor Coach Assoc. The cost is $16 for a single replacement plate and $13 for a single window cling at shopfmca.com. Because these are custom orders, allow at least eight weeks for delivery.
Want to keep rockin’ the classic plate? That’s awesome, too. We love it when members display their membership numbers for all to see. It’s a great way for members to identify each other while traveling and makes a fantastic conversation starter when you meet RVers who haven’t yet discovered the joys of Family RV Association membership.

Generational Membership Numbers
Did you know that once you’re assigned a Family RV Association membership number, it’s yours for life? Not only that, but your children and grandchildren can use this same number when they buy an RV. We just add a letter to the end to signify their relationship to you. For instance, S stands for son; D for daughter; and G for grandchild. If you have more than one family member with the same generational initial, a number can be added to designate that he or she is D2 or S2, etc.

Townsend Systems, C6593
Barrington, New Hampshire
In southeastern New Hampshire, not far from the Maine border, the small town of Barrington makes a nice spot to enjoy New England’s beauty. In the Goodwill Conservation Area, the Winnie-The-Pooh Trail celebrates the popular A.A. Milne children’s book. And little ones visiting with you can blow off some steam at the Barrington Community Playground. Other local attractions include the Spring Harvest Maple Farm and the War Dog Memorial. While in town, inquire about the free camping that Townsend Systems offers to Family RV Association members (603-498-0747; townsendbf@outlook.com).

It's Cosmic
Spacious Skies Campgrounds derived inspiration from the stars above with monthly themes for 2025 at its 15 RV/glamping campgrounds throughout the eastern U.S. For example, in March, “Stargazing Futures” offers great possibilities via vision boards, constellation crafts, and maybe even some wishing on a star. In April, “Planetary Love” revolves around eco-focused outdoor fun and reflects the company’s motto of “taking your indoors outdoors.” May celebrates hometown heroes and superheroes with “Galactic Guardians” activities.

| In Full Bloom
Oregon’s Willamette Valley boasts a colorful flower extravaganza you won’t want to miss if you’re in the area. More than 5 million tulips blanket 40 acres of farmland, evoking the feeling of a spring vacation in Holland. If you missed it, read about the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in the January/February issue of Family RVing magazine.

Get Outside . . . And Read
In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, March has been designated National Reading Month. This is a great opportunity for readers of all ages to increase their page turnings or e-reader screen swipes. Book Riot suggests 15 ways to celebrate through the month. Among them: Visit a library; purchase a book from an independent bookstore; start a new audiobook (perfect for RV travel). Maybe enjoy a recipe or dish that’s featured in a story you’ve read. You can even take a book on a “date” — to a park, bar, coffee shop, etc. And, by all means, donate books that others can enjoy. In the words of Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss: “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

Time to Bloom
As nature reawakens from her slumber, spring flowers begin to dot the landscape. To celebrate this time of rebirth and renewal, consider a craft project centered around pressed flowers.
Collecting flowers or leaves can be a great way to teach kids about nature. This project can be as simple as pressing different flowers between the pages of a book to see which ones turn out the best. Bonus: This can help to teach kids patience as they wait for a few days to see the results. The lesson also should include guidance for children on where and when it’s okay to pick flowers. For instance, if you’re in a campground, you’ll want to ask permission before gathering wildflowers. Another way to find blooms might be to visit a farmers market, or even a local florist, to pick up a bouquet for your craft.
|
One fun way to preserve the flowers and make something useful at the same time is to create a pressed-flower bookmark. Rachael from Entertain the Idea may inspire you to use acrylic bookmarks as the basis of your project. Or check out the kid-friendly pressed-flower ideas from Chelsea of Lovely Indeed.
Even if you choose not to pick any beautiful blooms, take a stroll around the neighborhood to admire the spring finery!
