2017 Governor's Mission to Asia

Travel Oregon participated in Governor Brown’s trade mission to Asia in early October. The mission focused on the exports of tourism and agricultural goods. Governor Brown addressed 41 attendees at a Japanese press briefing, including travel magazines and national dailies like Asahi Shimbun and Huffington Post Japan, among others. As of Oct. 17, 2017, three media placements have been published in Travel Watch, Yahoo News and Wing Travel. An additional six placements are expected in the next two months. The coverage is a direct result of Governor Brown encouraging the media (and their audiences) to explore Oregon.

Winter Campaign Features "Travel Oregon: The Game"

Travel Oregon is inviting all adventurers to try and survive a journey along the Oregon Trail with the launch of “Travel Oregon: The Game,” created as an homage to the classic game many remember from childhood. The Oregon Trail is one of the most popular computer games of all time. Travel Oregon’s version is a tribute, created under license from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, to ensure that it harkens back to the original experience. Leverage this campaign for your own tourism marketing efforts by utilizing the assets located in the toolkit. Be sure to play the game, too!

Apply Now For the Travel Oregon Forever Fund

Travel Oregon is accepting proposals for the 2018-2019 project beneficiaries of the Travel Oregon Forever Fund. One project will be selected from each of Oregon’s seven tourism regions. Project beneficiaries will receive funds in February 2019 and February 2020 equal to their fair share of donations raised the year prior. We anticipate that each project will receive approximately $10,000 over the two-year project cycle. Successful projects will improve the visitor experience in Oregon and support the following:
  • Restore or protect Oregon’s natural landscapes
