Hi Neighbor!
Philadelphia is home to many attractions, such as the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the Art Museum.  But did you know it also home to… PNBR?! Although PNBR is in its 11th year, you may still be asking “What in the world is PNBR?”  Why, it's the Philly Naked Bike Ride of course!  Yup… I said “NAKED and BIKE RIDE”.   The PNBR is a volunteer-run annual event in Philly.

A "bare as you dare" event, the PBNR welcomes free spirits of all levels of cycling prowess, walks of life, and amounts of clothing.  Naked Bike Rides are held in cities all over the world, and were started to promote fuel-conscious consumption (hence the bike-riding), positive body image (hence the nakedness) and cycling advocacy (you can't ignore a bicycle if the cyclist is partially nude!).

I have never attended this event, either as a rider or a spectator, but I promise it truly exists.  The event used to be held in September, but due to some “chilly” riding weather the past few years, it’s been moved to August for a little more "bare" comfort.  If you're going to be in the area and want to attend (or avoid) the event, check out the PNBR site for more info.  But be warned - as you may expect, portions of the site contain NSFW (not safe for work) pics of the ride and also humorous FAQs, such as "Isn’t it uncomfortable to sit on a bike seat naked??"  And the question I ask each and every year… ”Is this LEGAL?!”   It’s still a confusing one for me, it’s not “legal” per se, but it’s not “NOT legal” either?  Go figure. (read here for exact info on its legality)  Either way, it certainly seems like quite the event!  11 years running! (or I guess I should say, cycling!)

The ride is free, just show up and Ride! The starting location will be announced 24 hours prior to the ride.
Ride Naked! (or not!)
