Picture Day on Tuesday
Picture Day is THIS WEEK for all K-8 grades on Tuesday, September 16!
Families will have the opportunity to purchase pictures after viewing a proof. Proofs will be brought home by students about 2 weeks after picture day. A portion of the sales goes back to the St. Michael's Parents' Association!
NOTE: All students will be photographed regardless of whether they choose to purchase photos, as these photos are used for the annual yearbook.
Eighth Graders: Please follow these special instructions regarding dress requirements, as your portraits are more formal in nature.

Middle School Author Visit
We are pleased to share that, through our partnership with local bookshop bbgb, acclaimed New York Times best-selling author, poet, and historian Clint Smith will be visiting St. Michael’s to speak with our Middle School students during Community Time on Monday, September 30. Mr. Smith will present the new Young Readers edition of his award-winning book, How the Word is Passed.
In conjunction with his visit, students may purchase signed and personalized copies of the book through bbgb.

Join Us for the First Dragon Dialogue on St M's Branding Initiative

Topic: Leading with Love, Learning with Purpose: An Introduction to St M’s Enhanced Brand Positioning (led by James Warren of Share More Stories)
As part of our Strategic Plan, St. Michael’s recently completed an exciting brand strategy and messaging project with the research and consulting firm Share More Stories to explore how our School is perceived in the greater Richmond educational landscape and what makes us special and unique. Through the voices of parents, alumni, students, faculty, and admissions leaders, what we heard was both profound and energizing-- and deeply affirming of our mission. From this research, we’ve crafted refreshed brand messaging that celebrates what we do best: honoring childhood, truly knowing and loving each student, celebrating joyful learning, and cultivating a deep sense of belonging at St M.

Simple Sundays
Sunday, September 21, will be the last "Simple Sunday" Eucharist at 8:30 a.m. in the outdoor chapel at St. Michael's School. (Enjoy joyful music, a brief homily, and Holy Communion in a peaceful setting by the lake. Come as you are-- we'd love to see you!) After September 21, all are welcome and encouraged to attend services at St. Michael's Church in Bon Air.
Fall Family Fun: St. Michael's Church's annual Fall Fest will be held on their campus from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, September 27 (petting zoo, live music, food, face painting), and their outdoor tent service to celebrate the Feast of St. Michael will be held the following day, Sunday, September 28, at 10 a.m. Address: 2040 McRae Rd, Bon Air, VA 23235.

| Illness Reporting Protocol/Form
For the health and safety of all of our students, faculty, and staff, thank you for informing St. Michael’s if your child is ill and/or has a suspected contagious illness.
Upon receipt of this information, Nurse Maben, St M's school nurse, will contact the family. Please keep your child(ren) AT HOME until contacted by Nurse Maben.
