Dear ILR Community,
Had the world not come to a screeching halt, we would have been celebrating the end of our spring term of enriching ILR classes by gathering this afternoon for our Annual Meeting and Ice Cream Social. To our great disappointment, those best-laid plans crashed and burned.
At the annual meeting, we would have voted on the slate of our incoming ILR Board of Directors prepared by the ILR Nominating Committee. Chaired by ILR secretary, Marcia Waller, and joined by board member Chris Riesenberg and ILR member Bill Gracie, the committee contacted nominees and confirmed their willingness to serve—incoming new members for a three-year term, renewing members for a second three-year term, officers for a one-year term, and returning members continuing their terms.
Due to the pandemic, we cannot meet in person to ratify the approval of the incoming board slate. Therefore, we have created an online ballot. The current board has already proposed and seconded a motion to accept the slate of board members below. Now, as required by our bylaws, we ask you to cast your vote. We'll accomplish this via an online poll. Upon receipt of votes cast by 5:00pm, May 15th, an affirmative majority will ratify the nominations and the incoming board will be brought on immediately. Board members who have completed their terms and are leaving the board: Richard Daniels, Ginny Layton, Fred Martin, Lois Philips, and Marcia Waller. Pat Baugher left the board earlier this year due to health reasons. We owe them all a debt of gratitude for their years of service.
