Beginning Monday, June 7, the Daily Screener process will change for faculty, students, and staff* who are fully vaccinated (two weeks after they receive all required doses), have uploaded their proof of vaccination, and had it validated: those meeting these criteria will no longer be required to participate in ongoing testing in order to get a “green screen” on the Daily Screener and get access to NYU buildings.
Those who have not completed these steps will continue to have to regularly test in order to have access to NYU buildings.
Important Tips
- Get Vaccinated and Upload the Proof of Vaccination After You Receive the Final Dose: Getting vaccinated is good for your health and helps keep each other safe. And, after you’ve submitted your proof of vaccination and you’re fully vaccinated, you won't have to do ongoing testing any longer or quarantine if you’re a close contact with an infected person (though you must still complete the self-report form).
- Get Tested This Week: Getting tested this week will all-but-ensure that even if there’s a problem with your upload (eg, two weeks hasn’t passed since your final dose of vaccine), you will still be able to access NYU buildings next week.
- Remember, You Need to Be Fully Vaccinated: You can and should upload your proof of vaccination right after getting your final dose of your FDA-approved or WHO-listed vaccine (eg: first dose of J&J, second dose of Pfizer), but you won’t be considered fully vaccinated until two weeks after your final dose.
- It Takes a Few Days to Validate Your Upload: Uploaded proofs of vaccination are individually checked and validated, a process that takes a few days. So, remember, even if you have uploaded your proof correctly, and even if it is two weeks since your final dose, the system will not recognize you as vaccinated, uploaded, and validated on Day 1 after your upload.
