The Graduate Council, which serves over 10,000 graduate students across all divisions and professional schools, is seeking applications for two Executive Board positions: the Vice President of Advocacy and the Vice President of Communication and Coordination. If you are passionate about building a stronger graduate community and improving the student experience, you are highly encouraged to apply. Vice Presidents will receive a quarterly stipend and serve for the entire 2026–2027 academic year. Applications are due Friday, July 17, at 11:59 pm CT.

This week’s “What Can I Do with My PhD?” Career Panel will feature professionals working across science advocacy organizations, foundations, and nonprofit institutions that support research, education, and public engagement. Panelists will discuss their career paths, how they drive scientific and societal impact through programs and initiatives, the skills needed to succeed in nonprofit and mission-driven organizations, and how STEM PhDs can transition into these collaborative and impact-focused careers.

Co-Student Ombuds Recruiting for AY26–27
Applications accepted until Friday, July 31, 5:00 p.m.
The Student Ombuds is a part-time, salaried official of the University, appointed by the President to investigate student grievances when the existing channels of communication or dispute resolution have proven unsatisfactory. The Student Ombuds works, on average, 10 hours each week. The positions are paid at a competitive hourly rate. Office space for the position is provided in the Edelstone Center.
