(These first newsletters of the year are long with important information to share. Thank you for your understanding.)

Happy Birthday, St. Michael's!

65 years ago on September 10, 1957, St. Michael's opened its doors to 63 first, second, and third grade students with subsequent grades added each year.

While St M has grown to meet the changing needs of our students, what has stayed constant is our strong values, the love of learning that is instilled, and the sense of belonging that our students, families, and faculty feel here. Happy Birthday, St. Michael's!

Celebrate Readers with Birthday Books!

The Birthday Book program is a treasured St. Michael's tradition -- a great opportunity to honor your child, support their love of reading, and help grow our St. Michael’s library collection. Here’s how it works:
  • Visit the St. Michael’s Birthday Book webpage, hosted by local bookstore bbgb: https://www.bbgbbooks.com/st-michaels-birthday-books.
  • Select and purchase a book to donate to the St. Michael’s library collection.
  • If you have a specific title in mind that isn’t listed or available through bbgb, please speak with librarian Mrs. Bryan-Diehl to discuss options.
  • Order your child’s birthday book at least 3 weeks before their birthday, to allow enough time for delivery and preparation.
  • You are welcome to dedicate the book to your child, a family member, a teacher, or anyone you choose. Just fill out the text for your dedication in the 'notes' section on the bbgb order page, or email Mrs. Bryan-Diehl.
  • Every birthday book will include a bookplate with your child’s name, birthday, and any included dedication on the inside front cover.
  • Your child will be the very first person to check out their selected book! Participants will also be recognized during their library class and in a special Birthday Book display in the library.
We hope you will choose to participate in this time-honored and fun St. Michael's tradition and help our wonderful library collection continue to grow!
