Walsh University welcomed students to campus with three days of events, activities and opportunities for spiritual reflection to kick off the 2026-27 academic year. Look for Chick-fil-A food at various upcoming Cavalier Athletic events this year, thanks to a new partnership. In addition, after every home G-MAC conference win, the North Canton Chick-fil-A will offer free fries the following day to anyone who presents a game ticket or has the Walsh Athletics app on their device. Look for other giveaways, too, throughout the academic year. “Walsh University Athletics is excited to partner with the North Canton Chick-fil-A, creating new ways to connect with our fans, support our student-athletes and strengthen our local community,” said Christina Paone, vice president of Athletics.  “We look forward to building a partnership that adds value both on campus and throughout the city of North Canton.”

The Brother Edmond Drouin Library is introducing a new series of brief online workshops entitled “Conversations @ the Library: Exploring Research, Resources and Ideas.” The workshops offer advice on library research, strengthening information literacy skills and discovering tools and resources to help support academic success. Designed to fit easily into anyone’s schedule, each session features a 15-minute presentation followed by 15 minutes of questions and discussion, providing practical insights and opportunities for conversation in just 30 minutes. Sessions take place from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Sept. 2, 9 and 16. Learn more about the series and register.

The Hoover Historical Center is participating in an America 250 project celebrating Stark County’s contributions to American History. The project includes a physical “pastport” for visitors to use while touring Stark County historical sites and museums. After visiting 10 sites, participants will receive an embroidered hat. “Pastports” can be obtained at the Hoover Historical Center on the Walsh University campus on Thursday, Friday or Saturday afternoons, where free tours begin on the hour from noon to 3 p.m. through the end of October. Learn more about the Stark County historical “pastport” and view other participating museums. The regular campus liturgical schedule has returned with the beginning of the new academic year, University Chaplain Rev. Ryan Furlong has announced. Services are in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel, unless otherwise noted.

Sunday: Adoration and Confession, 10-10:50 a.m.; Mass, 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.; Evening Adoration, 7:30-7:50 p.m.
Monday-Thursday: Adoration and Confession, 10-10:50 a.m.; Mass, 11 a.m.
Friday: Mass, 11 a.m. in the St. Teresa of Calcutta Chapel in the Global Learning Center
Saturday: No Mass

In addition, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel, the Connector Chapel (located in the connector area of the residence halls) and the St. Teresa of Calcutta Chapel (located in the Global Learning Center) are open many times throughout the week and available to all students (not just Catholics) for prayer and reflection. 

Students can showcase their campus groups and organizations at the annual Clubs & Organizations Fair from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, on the David Lawn (David Center Atrium is rain location.) The fair is an opportunity to recruit new members, connect with other students, and promote upcoming events and opportunities. The fair offers music, giveaways, popcorn and other treats. Register to take part in the fair by 11:55 p.m. Aug. 31. All students must ensure that their club or organization is registered to be officially recognized for the 2026-27 academic year. Complete the Clubs & Organizations Registration Form  by the 11:55 p.m. Aug. 31 deadline.
